North American Trans-Continental Trip 2012
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to my humble little slice of the internet. In my blog, you will find the chronicles of my Trans-Continental road-trip that I plan on taking the summer of 2012, after I graduate from high school. Posts can range from updates about my route, to maps, to car ads, to information about how much money I have for the trip. If you like ambition, cars, and travel, you've come to the right place.

Pierre, South Dakota to Jackson, Mississippi
1975 miles. The interstates in Kansas and Oklahoma are my best bets in terms of efficient driving, because the only really scenic routes are completely in the wrong direction.

Prince George, British Columbia to Carson City, NV
There are some great mountain roads in this leg. 2361 miles!
Middlebro, Manitoba to Prince George, British Columbia
The longest bit of the journey is in this 'leg'. It is in this leg that some of the only overlaps (driving on the same road twice) occur. The only other place it will happen is getting to Victoria, BC, and getting to and coming back from Newfoundland. Other than that, I will go through Kentucky and Tennessee twice, but only for short distances the second time. Prudhoe Bay should be epic. 7774 miles on this leg.
Section One: Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Entering Manitoba!
Using www.motorcycleroads.us , I was able to find the best driving roads on route, so this way, I can maximize the amount of the state/province I see. This leg is 1124 miles , so that could be done at a leisurely pace in about, 5 days? I'm thinking 6 hours of driving every day will be more than enough.
